What is Liao AI?
Liao is a hands-free AI conversation partner designed to help beginners speak Mandarin in open-ended, everyday conversations.
Is Liao a course?
No. There are no units, fixed lesson paths, or required answers. You choose what to talk about, and Liao helps you sustain the conversation.
How much Mandarin do I need?
Liao is being designed first for learners who know pinyin and a few words or phrases, but still freeze when it is time to speak freely.
What happens when I get stuck?
Mix in English, ask “Help me say…”, reveal a translation, replay a sentence, or ask Liao to slow down. The conversation waits for you.
Will Liao correct every mistake?
Meaning comes first. If you are understood, the conversation continues. A clearer or more natural version can appear quietly afterward.
How does the founder plan work?
The founder plan is US$99 per year, billed annually. Founders keep that price for as long as their subscription remains active. It unlocks the core Liao iPhone app and its core updates; unusually high or automated AI voice usage may be rate-limited under the fair-use terms shown at checkout.
How will my founder purchase reach the app?
Keep the RevenueCat purchase email. Once Liao is available, install it from the App Store, sign in with Apple, and open the redemption link in that email. Liao will attach the purchase to your account; an expired link can send you a fresh one.
Is my voice stored?
Liao is designed not to save raw microphone audio. Speech still needs to be processed to hold the conversation; precise processing and retention terms will be published before launch.
