What is Liao AI?
Liao is a private AI Mandarin chatting partner for learners who already know some Mandarin. Practise speaking and listening in back-and-forth conversations to build fluency and confidence.
Can I try Liao before choosing a plan?
Yes. Download Liao on the App Store and try one preview conversation of up to five minutes. Available plans, local prices, and included access are shown in the app before you choose a plan.
Is Liao a course?
No. Liao is conversation practice, not a structured beginner curriculum. You choose what to talk about, and Liao helps you use the Mandarin you have already learned.
How much Mandarin do I need?
Liao works best if you already know some basic words and sentence patterns. It is designed for advanced beginners and intermediate learners who want more speaking and listening practice—not for learning Mandarin from zero.
What happens when I get stuck?
Mix in English, ask “Help me say…”, reveal a translation, replay a sentence, or ask Liao to slow down. The conversation waits for you.
Will Liao correct every mistake?
Meaning comes first. If you are understood, the conversation continues. A clearer or more natural version can appear quietly afterward.
Is my voice stored?
Liao does not keep a library of your raw microphone recordings. Audio is processed to provide conversations and pronunciation features, including short in-memory or temporary copies where needed. Our Privacy Policy explains the providers, purpose, and retention in detail.
